What a stupid thing, but I guess they're teenagers, and also the author just really really wanted the childhood friend to prove she was a virgin for all the people who are shouting "WHOREEEEEEEEEEE!!!" to her for daring to date someone she doesn't like while being a dumb teenager, then spent all the time afterward regretting that decision.
Like, for the stuff I've spoiled myself on, the sports girl and this are really the more forgivable and understandable ones, maybe acting close to a real teenager even. I know I've committed similarly dumb acts (denying I like someone around someone else who confronts me about those feelings then not talking to them for fear of whether they knew or not until it was too late, and saying shit I don't mean just because of jealousy or frustration and hurting them without meaning to) when i was a teenager, at least.
Compared to the neglectful parent, and the sister almost killing him as a child because of an emotional outburst, they are nothing.
...but still, doing the "getting naked in front of an uninterested protagonist" really feels a bit much RN
