This manga is absolutely ridiculous but somehow it still manages to do an excellent job at making you feel the pain that the MC is feeling

Believe the light haired teacher (from the recent chapter) is the neighbor.
Dunno about the dark haired Ele one tho, does kinda look sim to the HS one.
I had to check it because it was not giving me peace. Blonde one from the past and the neighbor have almost the same Last Name, the only difference is first letter which very well can be either translate difference (it was long ago) or she tried to hide her true name from the MC out of shame. The Dark haired one with glasses despite almost looking 1:1 are 2 different characters cuz of different last names. But other than that we have no way of checking it lmao.

despite plot being very ridiculous sometimes
some of the scenarios can totally happen
people often joke about teachers not doing a damn thing when bullying happens
only to punish the victims when they fight back
simple misunderstanding or trolling turns into something traumatizing for children at schools
it happens all over the world
this manga over all do show how much things can turn south even in reality
and not everyone has MC super powers to have someone by their side at the darkest times

Wtf is up with japanese and not telling the truth are they that much of fking wussies. Almost all of this could have been resolved almost instantly is they would have just been honest. It's just ugh mind numbing stupidity. The males lack anything close to resembling balls and the chicks are just dishonest est trolls.
Because that's the point? It's shitty overused cliche ass convenient plot element I know but that's the point of this entire circus camaraderie, it's the "what if". Fictional stories are all about "what ifs" not "what's supposed to be". That's why it's called fiction. If the problem is resolved, if the character is perfect, if everything goes to plan. What's the damn point? Then what are we doing? Also you'll call the story boring for an entirely different reason.

Not sure why people think he's a deliberate self-deprecating moron just for kicks.

I'm bored during work, so let's recap:

--His issues with his family stem from his sister causing a head injury out of jealousy, him assumedly being abducted for a week, and discovered in the next town over. This left him feeling like he was just a nuisance to his sister, and mom by extension, so from then on, he never sought their attention and his mom took it as, "wow, this kid's so independent, lucky me," and didn't realize she was neglecting him until her sister tried to take him away. They're now scrambling to maintain a relationship with him without scaring him off. The thing with the shoes plays into this, since his mom's initial reaction was to believe the teachers' account over his, which sucks, but I mean, kids will say whatever to avoid getting in trouble. It's just an unfortunate situation.

--He firmly believes that his childhood friend has been dating an upperclassman, and that she let him know ahead of his confession to avoid an awkward situation. However, she's kind of garbage, because she lets him continue believing that, even though the guy she dated for two weeks clearly went on a smear campaign after she wouldn't put out (garbage attracts garbage, I guess). By the time she finally comes clean - in a bit of an overwhelming manner - he doesn't know how to respond since his feelings for her have become distorted as hell.

--He became absorbed in basketball as a way to process and cope after supposedly being sidelined by his childhood friend, rather than being an insufferable, jealous asshat, though honestly, it's on her for never bothering to clear it up and just assuming he'd eventually piece it together and make the first move, which she already swatted away. The basketball girl who falls for him confesses, but he can't move on yet, and then doesn't get to because he suffered an injury saving her from a fall, missed the end of the season, and killed the team's morale. Doesn't help that he believes her confession was a prank, after overhearing her telling her friends she doesn't actually have feelings for him.

--Because of just how poorly his elementary teachers handled the shoe incident, and how he had to operate alone to resolve it, he grows up thinking that the only person who would ever have his back is himself. He finds himself in a mindset akin to, "No matter how I behave, I end up causing some kind of conflict, so by that logic, I'm a troublemaker by default, who doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt." If there are any "self-deprecating moron" elements abound, it's in this point, but there are certainly reasons behind it. Mental health issues and emotional trauma don't typically stem from, "I feel like being Autistic for attention this morning."

Beyond that though, things sort of fall apart, and the story continues well past the point where it should have ended. It might as well have spun off into another series called, "The Girls Who Traumatized Me Took A Back Seat, And Now I'm Japanese Politics Jesus With Unlimited Powerful Connections and Upperclassmen Literally Offering Me Sex With Condoms in Hand."

I LOVE how dark this story goes. Especially now that I've read what happened to Kokonoe during his childhood in grade school. Those F*CKING B*TCH Teachers that shouldn't be bias with the students. Instead of listening first they started accusing him of stealing just because they saw it in his desk. STUP*D F*CKING R*TARDED Teachers!!!!
(PS: Sorry I was just really into the story that it also pisses me off because of those teachers)

You know it's fiction because Sanjouji doesn't get fired and blacklisted from working in education after absolutely shitting the bed during the shoe incident, and also eventually becomes part of the never-ending widespread harem Yukito starts adding members to while becoming Japan's Next Top Political Figure in his teens.

I know I'm a bit of a broken record here, but it's wild that it starts with such an interesting premise and generally sticks the landing, but then just abandons it before trying to become the One Piece of hokey ass romcoms. Like at some point the author stopped cooking, perhaps not having expected it to gain much traction, and from there started just trying to meet a word quota instead.

You say that about the education field, and it may be true in Japan (don't know, haven't looked into the actual state of things over the past several decades) but then I remember the random stories I come across in the news from time to time about what goes on in the States and how a school's first instinct is to cover its own ass over people appropriately getting the ones who are directly involved with a situation reprimanded/fired. I can think of a few schools voting down spending on recommended safety upgrades from basically nothing that they would have needed barely a year a later, staff not even being given leave during certain investigations, et cetera. People forget every institution is basically a business, and if they look bad that means fewer dollars coming in to keep them afloat so they always have incentives to cover themselves.

Ok guys, Im confused af because some characters looks almost the same as others. We've got here:
  • Sister and Mother
  • Aunt that took care of him
  • president of student council and her friend
  • 2 older Girls that took MC on some party
  • 2 teachers and I want to know if those 2 teachers that are in recent chapters about his past are the same 2 teachers that were introduced into his harem (lmao) earlier?
  • there was also his neighbor that was competing with his mother. Who is her. Or is she his teacher from primary school that accused him of stealing and we just get the chapters of what she did to Yukito to be a part of his trauma and this story like with every other character so far? XD
  • Oh and of course his Childhood friend &
  • Basketball team manager
Its sometimes hard to tell if its new character or not cuz of Black and white and this manga art style.
You forgot my favourite
-Starcaise loner stray senpai that talks about bread and gives good luck.

Ok, its me again. So those Elementary teachers ARE the same characters that were introduced earlier. Blonde one changed a bit her last name when reintroduced to MC for some reason and Black haired one have completely different one so either her husband died or she just tries to NTR him with MC lmao.

I feel a rushed ending coming...
The light and web novels go on indefinitely, but who knows, maybe whoever's adapting the manga is getting bored with it. Or there isn't much budget or effort going into it if the art is mid, everyone looks the same, and the partial chapters are being drip-fed. It must be stuck in a magazine that does shit numbers over there. Or some rando editor liked the first few chapters of the novel and tasked Joe Schmo-san with adapting it for him before he read too much further or really set any sort of guidelines/expectations.

Though I guess wait until the students supporting Yukito quit breaking the fire code with too many bodies inhabiting one classroom, and leave the garbage Principal behind to go down with the ship.

Reading this manga feels like I've taken speed.

It's at 200kph and never explains anything properly. I've got whiplash after ever chapter.
