Read this a while ago and I'm remembering just how silly it is. All she needed to say was that her hands were sweaty at the time, or try to hold his hand herself after she's done wiping them. A running theme in almost all Japanese romance is that the girl NEVER tries to initiate things on her own. It's always about her trying to goad the guy into doing things, and if he doesn't do those things after she gives those borderline nonexistent cryptic hints, well too bad she's going to just keep sitting there like a dead fish. In this one it's even funnier, she so badly doesn't want to take any initiative with the MC that she goes off and takes initiative to date another guy. Have to wonder what kinds of real issues the Japanese bros are dealing with if this kind of thing is so common in their romantic fiction.
