The mother's sin is being absent; her being a single mother, I can understand her situation somewhat. What I don't understand is the sister, after almost killing him, thinking that having incestuous tendencies is some kind of redemption.

It's all overcorrection and artistic choice to convey the depths of their feelings.

They're all recognizing how grave their mistakes are, so they are now, in the starkest contrast, trying to not only verbally communicate but physically demonstrate to Yukito that they love him. Like a rubber band stretched too far, they've snapped. Now they're broken and the expression of their love is...not quite right.
