I'm really beginning to realise I kind of don't like very many people in this manga, I definitely don't like how every time someone does something wrong it just gets forgiven basically straight away.

I don't know how you can say she's the MVP when all she did was prolong his depression for years and never did anything to reverse it. I guess you could say she's the MVP in the sense that without her completely fucking up his mental state this story wouldn't have happened so this arc is only possible because of her.

Hypnotherapy is exist in real life you know. Usually for treating trauma.
Would you prefer to let your beloved die from depression and trauma than help with what you can do?

On one hand, I'm for the method of hypnosis with intentions of keeping someone alive and not hurting themselves to the point of no return. A bit worrisome to me, personally, but hypnosis, like any other tool, can be bad or good depending on the person using it, much like a gun, a sword, magic, or whatnot.

On the other hand, I'm not for the aunt possibly grooming Yukito to be into an incestuous relationship between them (as if that development between him and his mother and sister wasn't crazy enough), or any adult female he has had contact with him up to now (he's still a minor at the end of the day, people).

The only reason I'm partially okay with her is because, as Yukito said, she was the only female out of everyone in his life who had NEVER. HARMED. HIM. Not physically, not socially, and definitely not emotionally like everyone else had with at least one of those. That alone makes her the MVP of women in this entire series. Still not for the aunt x nephew incest, though.

She's the MVP for most people because she kept him alive.

She didn't want to prolong the depression of MC, she was trying to safeguard his sanity. She did this because MC was eventually going to off himself, because he kept on thinking he was "undesired" by people close to him.

This was only going to be a temporary solution, she was banking on sister and mother apologizing and breaking the charm early on. It wasn't her fault it prolonged because people kept on being shitty to him.

Edit: Also, the charm didn't make him depressed, it only made him think that emotions aren't necessary. It was kind of like a coping mechanism she placed so that he wouldn't think of being suicidal.

Anything to avoid actually doing anything to help, he never got rid of his desire to want to disappear, he has been constantly talking about wanting to disappear this entire series, "she was doing it to safeguard his sanity" is pure cope. If she wanted to do that she would have taken him to some form of counselling. She absolutely made things worse and the fact that you guys are calling her the MVP for that is utterly wild.

Yes, I know, I've had hypnotherapy, not that you would actually be able to do what she did but even if you could you wouldn't just seal away someone's emotions and dip. No follow up, no trying to sort out the root cause of the issue, she absolutely is a villain for this.

I also have several "huh?" with this manga but I think what author try to portray here is something like

"what his aunt did was just to prevent him to not to actually off himself"

like he still think about it but because she shut off his emotion, the negative emotion isn't there to push him to actually commit it.

but because of bro is red flag's magnet so the "charm" went longer than she expected and it leading to him to could not even feel the positive emotion too.

Yeah, hypnotherapy exists, but it's nothing like this. It is mostly used to help people quit smoking and other compulsive habits or manage mild recurring daily stressers. All it does is help a percentage of people relax so they can more easily discuss their problems and realize what they need to break habitual patterns.
It doesn't seal off feelings or place a new temporary identity or any of what happens in this. This is the laziest trope bullshit version of hypnosis.
