You know, the tale of Genji does have stuff about romantic and political maneuvers and whatever, but I'm fairly certain the part that they were referring to is the very famous and contextually relevant part where he raised a young girl from the age of 10 to be his wife. You know, kind of like his aunt raising him, and then being flirtatious with him.

Yep Hikaru ends up raising the daughter of his dead friend and decides to raise her to be his perfect woman...
later on in life, he tries it again with another girl that comes under his care, his wife, the same girl who he groomed into being his perfect partner immediately called him on it when he said that he was just concerned for her. The girl stayed, but the grooming of wife number 2 didn't happen.

I know there’s been some wild remarks made in this manga before, but I honestly wasn’t expecting reverse bunny out of all things.

... Eh, compared to what everyone else has done to him and what she initially used the charm for as I commented in the previous chapter, this isn't really all that bad.
