Could be dangerous if we attempt to dive into Mariana Trench. This would 100% definitely crush us, even if we can breath underwater.

Considering it's stated that it pushes the water away and uses magic to produce the oxygen barrier, would it not keep the inside at regular pressure? IMO the biggest danger would be stumbling into a dangerous situation with aggressive or toxic wildlife.

Think of this: In that deep water, it's like holding a 500 lbs (or 226 kgs in other countries) for while. Now, do this with your magic just to keep breathing. All those pressures are pressing against your body. You'd have to do hard to push those pressures away from your body while using magic just to breath continuously. You'd be exhausted quickly.

Except you're discounting the fact that it isn't just straight-up a layer of oxygen, it's a layer of oxygen created & maintained by magical power, which apparently in context here can be used to do just about anything - I don't see how maintaining an equilibrium pressure at atmospheric inside the layers would be very difficult given the other physics-defying stuff we see in this manga.

And equating the magic to physical effort is an apples-to-oranges comparison here given what we know of how things work.
