Blame it on not having enough chapters, the pacing is just all over the place. The novel hasn’t ended yet, at the time this comment was written and when the manga ended, so it’s another reason why the end is so half-baked. It’s a shame though, if the mangaka had taken a different path from the original source, this could’ve been a much better harem manga (that’s why most spin-offs for this are actually better). For its kind, there are a lot worse, but this isn’t that good either.

This is not the end, there are 15 books and it is still in progress.

I don't know what happens after I haven't read them yet.

On the other hand, we could well have an animated season 2 but we have to wait until he finishes publishing another 2 or 3 volumes to have news.

if this is really the ending its kinda disappointing, its clear that eita and the white haired girl have feelings for each other yet they still don't want to admit it, really half-baked ending.

Re-read this after the light novel has been completed. It's crazy how this manga only adapted 4 volumes of the original LN, but what's crazier is that the LN continued for another 14 volumes after this. Probably 10 volumes too many honestly - you can pretty much experience the entire series through this adaptation alone since one, the manga adapted everything pretty faithfully and two, the LN never really had any meaningful developments or conclusions after this point (some even appalling to go through), save for some after-stories. But hey, I can't blame the author for getting that bag

To preface, this series is THE definition of a generic harem manga, from the bizarre but unique premise that ropes readers into a roundabout plot only to end on an open note that leaves EVERYONE disappointed. If you're not into the genre in general, this will be a chore to read.

Anyway, this manga is really great. There are like 3 points where it could have ended and that would have been perfect (it's kinda self-aware of this), but it kept going and only got better. Mostly thanks to the apt humour, landing almost every joke, and the art which is just an absolute eye candy. And, despite being considered pretty clichéd these days, every character's larger-than-life eccentricity yet grounded personalities make them entertaining, likeable and memorable. The characters are pretty much the only thing that makes Oreshura stand out. Yeah sometimes they're dumber than brick, but that's more of the story's fault than anything. Speaking of which, the story is there. There isn't any really character growth, it's pretty self-contained, never goes anywhere. But the one thing the story's good at, is being EXTREMELY enjoyable to read. As long as an arc introduces something new, is hilarious throughout and has the right amount of development to keep me reading, I don't care how it ends!... until it does, which by then makes me indifferent at best and frustrated at worst. Rinse and repeat for the next arcs all up until the series ends inconclusively. All and all Oreshura is like empty calories, yeah it's there, it'll make you full, but there's no nutrients at all

Also if I had a nickel for every harem rom-com released around 2010 starring a cool ojou-sama type who's actually a klutz and is obssessed with Jojo, that has a manga adaptation partially scanlated by Japanzai, yada yada (Mayo Chiki)
