its not scummy, this is normal, they're doing this for free with an option to donate if you wanna support them, they have a reddit page to check and explain why the uploads are late, you're acting as if you pay access for this stuff like they owe you something. scanlators do not owe you shit at the end of the day you are reading FOR FREE, people are FREE to upload their own scanlations if they want as long as it doesn't violate mangadex's TOS and there CAN BE more than 1 version of an english scanlation

purists and people who attack other people for others scanlating on manga would never be justified and that doesn't necessarily reflect the group leads and the members working on mangas, a lot of groups are pretty chill with having more than 1 scanlator, its fans of the tls that aren't

who cares what they use? they have a preferred platform where people can check because that's what they prefer for more common updates

We already talked about this matter and if possible please stop on arguing about it. If nothing changes and the circumstances stays the same I'll just choose to drop out of my own will, I don't want drama on my hobby.

My personal advice: Don’t abuse the insomnia too much, it can break bodies and minds real hard.(I would know, before going to the gym regularly, I was a sleepless wreck)
Get some good rest and maybe do some meditation(or whatever could help you) to get some quality sleep.

Yep, I'm gonna scanlate up to the latest, and I told stellar-san that it's fine if they redo the chapters and upload their version, since that would be much preferable for the readers since they could give much better quality than I could.

READ BOTH, I do be cause i like seeing different takes on the words and each group would have different things they clean and redraw and things they don't clean and redraw, again stop acting like uploading a chapter after someone did is some kind of crime, its not, the reason doesn't matter and both parties already settled things AMICABLY so your thoughts on the matter are IRRELEVANT and there is STILL NO JUSTIFICATION TO ACT LIKE A JERK because of an upload

Free is not some catch all. Sure nobody needs to be a jerk, but criticism is also free. A L W A Y S.

Anything else is a fight against windmills. If you want to have criticism quenched, then just look at what Reddit and discord can do, where personal moderators have all the power.(and the tribalism shudder)
Or just look at Ubisoft and co. where toxic positivity has made them unable to get their projects out in a satisfying way anymore. Constructive criticism is how the world turns round.

yeah, I've seen more people say mangadex comments often come as being more of "oh thank you for the scanlation but also fuck you for uploading when someone else did even if you do it for free", pretty much asshole behavior

Its the same treatment I got from a member of soseki discord server when I asked why I got banned when I'm just asking if I could pick up the series.

free is ALWAYS a catch all, you literally have no right to complain if you're not paying for a product
that would normally be bought, this isn't like the case with gacha games where they're made specifically for you to be played for free but even "free to play" titles have ways to monetize as an option, and its MANGA READING, stop acting like this is something super grand, you're making a big deal out of literally nothing

im also a part of a scanlator group just a proofreader though, just like what happened here the problem really lies with how much the scanlator picks a series but cant deliver what expected for them to do especially if they do haggle a couple of works that are really good. not all readers have the time to search for answers why x(manga) stopped updating etc. and find it on reddit or other social media sites the answer they seek. The scanlator has the sole responsibility for it regardless of irl situation he had. Just please if your a scanlator just admit if you cant do it give it up or just seek help from others to make things easier.

I love how mad everyone is on behalf of the scanlators who already spoke and chill with the other. none called the other a sniper, spoke of 3-month rules, only angry people in the comments of how dare someone put out a chap they had in the works. If a scan doesnt want to drop a work but gives blessing for others to keep up the pace catch up and scan it as well by gollyyy what a crazy thought that they have a right to do something that affects no only upsides for everyone; faster releases and other slow as hell but consistent quality. read em both why not do as u please, stop fabricating the most useless meaningless drama on the net
