Just wanted to say, no matter what people really like your translations. They may be rough in some areas but in most parts it gives people joy and hope of seeing their favourite series finally getting translated. Always you do you when you feel like it, don't let a few people bring you down when you have some amazing talent. 😁

Sorry for being incompetent, don't worry it won't happen again. I can only do that much using a phone, I know I won't be able to compete with groups like toor or kirei. Rest assured you won't gonna see me again translating main stream titles.

This whole happening made me realize how fucking trash my scanlation is, my goal is not to take over in the first place but give readers even a barely acceptable quality that I could only do until proper scanlators decided to snipe the series. But yeah like that person from Noor said, my good intentions still could be seen as a scam bait because of the quality. It feels like no matter what I do to improve I'm not gonna be as good as them because of this and it really took a huge chunk of my passion. I thank you both for waking me up from my dream.

You can't take comments online that seriously, maybe I'm just old but I assume by default people online are trolling or being assholes in most cases since that's how the net was for ages and even having your real face and name tied to your comments didn't change it. KC is a super veteran so comparing yourself to her is good in an aspirational sense, honestly I don't think you should put that much of yourself into doing scans.

You did a solid job and regardless of the circumstances we got KC scans and can choose between them at will, you taking yours down to not facilitate people being toxic is fine. I'd recommend in future ignoring spiteful comments, if people have pointers on grammar, translation accuracy, crappy cleaning or something then sure. Give a week or so for the air to clear and see if people are saying something meaningful or not. If it gets toxic just avoid it and come back when you're calmer.

Your scan quality was fine, no one, not even KC was suggesting you should nuke yours or not be allowed to scan it. Whether it's a hobby, or because it's popular or whatever if you wanna scan what you wanna scan just do that. I've seen dogshit scans, yours aren't it. GL with whatever you do next.

No it wasn't the only reason, a big reason was @RonBWL calling it "looking like scambaiting".
Writing long paragraphs on the whole discussion, then writing 2 sentences (for the first time) directly at Jailbird and insulting their work, then sometime(hours) later writing like 4 points of basic advice. Not before writing how they "don't want to hurt people with advice"...

i don't see anything wrong with this statement, do what you want, this is a comments section about you people whining a big group uploaded to begin with, none of this wouldn't have happened if people didn't complain about something that doesn't even break TOS and if people just let it be after jailbird said they settled things amicably after that everything else was MOOT

but the suggestions for stuff like what jailbird could improve on were good
and i believe that comes from actual care for a fellow scanlator
could his reply be worded better when he started replying? 100% it could've that's why he was misunderstood to begin with and yes people can be terrible at wording, if that wasn't the case we wouldn't have misunderstandings, and we're in an international space where things don't always translate properly if english isn't our native tongue(ron speaks vietnamese i believe)

If this is what it takes for groups to release chapters, then I'm all in for it. Imagine 2 chapters in an instant. Sometimes competition is a good thing.

for me its already a norm in scanlating scene. multiple projects per one group but if they cant deliver in time no one knows until someone takes one over. The miscommunication within readers and groups are real especially here in mangadex that i think most people here are just plain readers and groups that dont bother to update them what's really the status of the project. That's why this kind of heated discussions take place already in a cycle.

damn another case of gds being capable of actually releasing stuff to keep up with raws when someone else uploads a chapter, seems 4 months was just them not working on it as always

wait a moment this is not a gds scan

i remember vividly AppyScans did a translation of Saikyou no Maou ni Kitaerareta that GDS didnt translate for a year i think they stopped at 14 when the raws already at 20 or 23 i think. i dont know the full details (if they had an agreement for him to continue it) but i think AppyScans did fight for a takeover when GDS put their own version up until chapter 17. Since then he already caught up with the raws every release.
