What is this guy called in the original, "za warudo"?
At first I thought it was unfair how he hit Hayato even after he answered the riddle correctly but now that I think about it, maybe a correctly answered riddle makes him more vulnerable/off-guard to an attack? Or something like that.

Why did the kaijin claim he was wrong the first time? I guess it could be read as it being upset he gave a different correct answer, since it called him a fool rather than saying he was wrong. The answers, even as a pun, feel weird to me, saying "ice" or "cold ice" never cool down
