Aren't they sent by random or something? If they could choose someone, why would it be some random shmuck, and not a highly trained individual, or a proven socially apt guy / girl? (why even choose a guy?) Thus far, it was proven that there is nothing special about the MC, especially socially wise. We saw he did NOTHING special as a "wringer".Repeating my theory from the last chapter:
The FMC is the absolute best combatant japan could send and the MC was specifically selected by secret police to provide her mental support and to be her secretary. The temperament of the FMC must be very delicate, that's why despite of the grave nature of the mission, they couldnt find a single JIDF member who could handle her. There could be no other explanation why the government didnt send an elite commando (or two) of the JIDF.
It's a nice theory, but it doesn't hold any ground. I find it much more believable that the author wanted a leading female character, and wanted to shove in an affable, average-at-everything protagonist so the readers can self-insert, or something along those lines.
This is a story with a nice premise, but it's just loaded with mediocrity.
