Honestly, I like this kind of realism too. Many stories, games, and even D&D lack these "friendly fire" mechanics. Somehow, all the attacks magically damage the enemies unless you're unlucky or choose otherwise and assuming magic were real, that would be weird. Same for healing spells only healing friendlies and not enemies in range.

People like to complain about the Divinity Original Sin 2 combat system, but it's one of the very few RPG combat systems where bosses don't have bullshit immunity to everything.

Should check out pathfinder 2e. A lot of effects that will just hit everyone if not carefully positioned AoE heals will affect everyone in its aura which on the plus side heal damages undead and unholy creatures.
