Thanks for the mass upload! Maybe consider using batoto too? IDK how MD feels about it, but i know some TL groups stop translating when there's 'official' english uploads or so b/c of copyright, batoto doesn't seem to care and even has some 'official' uploads without getting in trouble, tho idk if your own site will be affected like the ones who upload the korean webtoons that end up having like "starting at chapter 32" versus restoring some (despite also asking for donations on their site/locking some chapters behind paywalls/points)

You know batoto’s an agg now right, since the owner sold the site due to burnout from having to solodev batoto? (And hence why MD was made; it was originally a refugee haven for all the ex-batoto users since Holo made a dang good replacement/alternative for batoto)

Well to be fair, your uploads do tend to be in irregular batches instead of a regular upload schedule, and some other groups DO scumhoard to get ppl to visit their malware-infested, ad-riddled sites.

Wow. I wasn't even trying to be that petty, but you just couldn't leave well enough alone, could you? I'd almost laugh, except this is just plain pathetic.

And I'll explain why it is, too. Because I'm not one to simply let my arguments stand on their own. I tell you why I make those arguments.

That said, lets have a couple of screen caps first so there is absolutely no miscommunication here. One from MD, and one from your website - both for this same title.


My, my, what a difference! Regular releases on your website, but you leave things be on MD for months at a time. You don't even have the excuse of, "But we were waiting for the volume release!" I mean, you might argue that if you were only uploading the high quality volume releases on MD, but your previous batch of mass uploads span several volumes, invalidating that argument.

Oh, and speaking of that, I love that five month gap between chapters 30.1 and 30.2. Real classy, there. You are a paragon of a scanslation group, baiting people to come to your advertisement-driven website. (This, BTW, also invalidates the volume release argument.)

There's no way around this. You hoard releases on your website for the sake of making money on ad revenue. "Free releases" my ass. You're just another "scan" group looking to profit off of titles you have no legal right to profit off of. And yes, this is exactly what you seek to do, because you run ads on your website. No matter what you may claim, there is no other interpretation for this behavior.

And don't start with the whole "But it costs money to run a website!" spiel. The truth is that with MD around, you don't really need a website. At most, you need a weblog to announce releases and disseminate news about the goings-on in your group, like what titles you're planning to pick up, which ones you're dropping, what positions you have open for recruitment, and so on and son forth.

Really, if you were truly doing this out of the passion of scanslation? You wouldn't even bother with trying to run a website, and just upload to MD without any delay. Unless you are trying to make a profit, then it's a waste of time and money to run a website to host your releases.

Lastly, your proofreader cannot seem to do a proper job. I see incorrect word usage, weird grammar, and sentences that are just plain awkward all over the damn place.

With all of this, you have no empathy or pity from me, coming out and calling me out for my comment. Like that peasant in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, all like "Help! Help! I'm being repressed!"

Remember, everyone: scanslation is not something you should be using as a means to make a living. The only exception is if you got permission from the original publisher to translate and distribute a title in your region. Otherwise, scanslation is to be treated as a hobby and not a profession.

And honestly? If I had the time for it, I'd be translating this title myself and sniping the fuck out of Platinum Crown. And the hell of it is that I'm sure my release would be better because, despite the fact I'd have to rely on DeepL for the rough translation, I actually know how to not only proofread, but also edit to produce sentences that are not weird and awkward. And I'd be uploading only to MD, and never ask for money. In fact, I'd respectfully request that you NOT send me money, and instead support the mangaka by purchasing the original Japanese language release.

Why?

Because the publishers in Japan DO NOT TRACK FOREIGN SALES, so spending your money on the "official" translation does nothing to sway a publisher's decision as to whether a title gets axed or not.

Ball's in your court now, buddy. Good luck arguing your way out of this.

Yes we aim to make money, the money i get from this is sitting on my account waiting to pay translators editors and whatnot, i also buy all of the volumes i can unless im caught up to serialized releases. And do i want people to come to my website? ofcourse, but i do not hold back releases intentionally. I just have a lot of active series so my top priority is just to get them out and released, some series are actively uploaded to mangadex as i had started uploading here from the beginning but others have had a gap and ive been too lazy and lacking time to do batch uploads of them. I also do not have any anti-adblock or malware ads as i run default adsense. I will try my best to proofread better in the future tho
