I... I kinda feel for the FMC but also always thought that it was a stupid idea for her to turn the glass bookmark into her full-time bookmark. That's such an obviously fragile product that if I wanted to use it at all, I'd be doing so at home. Stationary.

Glass bookmark was stupid in the first place, for sure. Hell, he even says in this very chapter that she could cut herself on it.

It's not necessarily stupid if you don't actually use it (a lot). It's the kind of gimmick item that's not practical for it's apparent use, but can be used as decoration. In a more exaggerated sense, if you have an old item of real historical value, let's say a Ming vase, you probably shouldn't fill it with water and keep flowers in it, in some haphazard place. Taking a glass bookmark to school was an extremely ill-advised choice. It would be bouncing around in her bag the whole school day. She should have decorated her bookshelf back home with it, in a way that it would be visible but not prone to accidents.
