Color me surprised, the author did indeed not impart any real consequences on her for how she acted and the MC doesn't even see any real problem with this entire situation.

This whole 'guiding your partner without any emotional risk' bit IS the entire premise of this manga, the author will only resolve it when they are ready to end the manga itself. So of course now that it's completely impossible to continue the status quo, they just step it up another notch by making it bi-directional. Now it's MC's turn to be the one manipulating FMC, since he now has the 'information advantage'.
