Adding to that, the main point of the last few chapters and how he ended the chapter was how the concept of having magic has been used as a crutch. The point is that he’s not using the much more complex, strong, and polished western fighting styles (and they were both using wooden weapons) but their version which works with magic. The ideal that their world is so ingrained with the concept of magic that they skipped what we would consider as fundamentals because magic bypasses it. She gave an example with farming, and the brother came into a realization of it coming for fighting. Thats why he wants him to teach him to how to use the sword, because he wants to learn sword techniques that are lacking from his world due to the reliance of magic.

You're correct, but there are implications to your point.

Granted that Uryuu knows combat sword techniques and is considered an expert, and Bart not using his magic has worse technique than Uryuu. If "Martial Arts developed without magic are superior", then Bart should get whupped by the expert fighters of every region. Because every fighting style on Earth is built without Magic. This is a testable premise, Bart just has to fight and lose to a dozen champions of multiple disciplines.

I won't take it back until Bart gets punked by Karate, Kung Fu, Muy Thai, Boxing, Sabat, Sampo, Krav Maga, Capoeira, Bayonet Combat, etc. I demand the crossover with Kengan Asura.
