For how long the arrival of her brother and the mage girl was teased and built up, their introduction was fumbled so hard, it really killed all momentum. The brother is a weird siscon and massive asshole who beat the main character into the hospital because of his incestuous lust, yet is beloved and forgiven for really no reason, mage girl is barely in the story at all (and not just because she's gone to America), hell, the male lead is barely in the story anymore. Meanwhile, we waste several chapters on the adventures of dickwad brother, weird tomato farmer man, and just how gosh darn much Chris wants to go back home, leaving her husband and father of her soon-to-be-born child behind without apparently much of a second thought.Tbh, ever since the brother broke the ml’s arm I really just kinda stopped caring, just not at all interested anymore.
This series has honesty started to suck, MC is such an afterthought to everyone else. Chris' character development fell off a fucking bridge the moment her brother showed upFor how long the arrival of her brother and the mage girl was teased and built up, their introduction was fumbled so hard, it really killed all momentum. The child's birth better shake things up in a major way. Several characters need some serious redeeming.
I'm caught up with the raws and can confirm it hasn't gotten better. It's been more focused on the crops, side characters, and literally anything but the main couple. For how long the arrival of her brother and the mage girl was teased and built up, their introduction was fumbled so hard, it really killed all momentum. I was listening to this while scrolling thru the comments and the made your gif go way harder then it should or is suppose to
I am not invalidating or arguing against your opinion but this is a slice of life story so the story moving at a snail's pace is to be expected having said that this fucking story does feel like a lot of stuff could have been shunted off to spin off stories rather than being focused on hereI'm caught up with the raws and can confirm it hasn't gotten better. I used to be excited when a new chapter dropped but now I'm just like "what pointless side plot are we gonna talk about this time"
I totally understand wanting to flesh out your setting and characters, especially in this case where it's obvious the author is passionate about the subject matter of farming, but this is reaching a point where every main plot point is being sidestepped for that obsession and it's harming the overall enjoyment.
they're probably enjoying itI know the manga's always had the whole farming aspect, but for a long time that was at least mixed in with the main couple growing together. I guess now that she's knocked up and the male lead is lucky to appear in a single page every three chapters or so, they decided to shift entirely to nobody side-characters and up the farming to the max?
I wonder how the Japanese audience is feeling this, let alone the addition of the stupid brother.
I'm not arguing against that on principle. But the problem is that this manga specifically also insists on having these fairly serious and almost too grounded elements to it (remember when Chris was being held in a government facility for a while?), that demand resolution. Like, normally a siscon being aggressive would be a one-off joke, but he beat the protagonist so hard that he was hospitalized. And it actually affected his business. He caused his brother-in-law to move out of his own house and sleep in the cuck shed, and it was never actually resolved. The current plot is moving in a direction where the protagonist's pregnant wife who professed to loving him may just leave the fucking planet, never to return, taking his child along. And nobody is talking about it. The plot isn't whimsical or free of real consequences enough to meander on dumbass side plots like tomato man not knowing the names of women for several chapters. It fucks up the pacing when these pressing issues are swept aside for nonsense.I am not invalidating or arguing against your opinion but this is a slice of life story so the story moving at a snail's pace is to be expected having said that this fucking story does feel like a lot of stuff could have been shunted off to spin off stories rather than being focused on here
