Was Christina ever shown to have a brother complex in this story before this chapter? It's really weird that she cares so much about her brother developing a (non-romantic) admiration for a fellow "warrior" on his level. She's treating Makoto Uryuu like her brother suddenly became romantically interested in him. Maybe it's just the pregnancy hormones, but good lord...

The main couple's likability has truly fallen to rock bottom in this arc for me. Forget about Kanji, Makoto should be promoted as the new farmer protagonist of this series. I'm finding his story and his search for a wife more interesting lately over other things going on in this manga.

For a moment there I thought the author was trying to set up Bartholomeus with Momoko even though he's already engaged to Louise. I'll have none of that please. Surprisingly, I never expected him to be the guy who'll potentially introduce Momoko to Makoto, but if that's what it takes for them to meet over Kanji and Heita's unwarranted attempts to gatekeep her from him, I'll take it.

He's a grovelling, coward doormat, who only has enough courage to try to scheme behind Uryuu's back to keep the man forever single, despite Kanji himself being happily married. And yeah, he found his wife by pure coincidence when she dropped out of the sky and had absolutely no one else to rely on in the whole world. And now Kanji won't even sleep in the same house with her anymore. For all I care, he can get 10 more bones broken, preferably the skull included.

Don't think he's really the protagonist anymore. He's hardly in these chapters and it's all about the brother now. Kanji just sits in the back cowering.
