Really. There is that one other isekai manga in which a whole fantasy country emerges (with a portal to t's own world, if I remember correctly) and the japanese goverment was informed. You know, what they did? Send one agent, that literally denies next to every request.

Japanese Village: "The fantasy people are starving!"
Goverment: "I'm sorry, but Japan can't interfere with that. No food."
So the local japanese village shares its reserves.

V: "They need fertilizer."
G: "Nope. :X Not giving any to them."
Village shares.

V: "They are threatened by an enemy nation of their world."
G: "Sorry to hear that!"
They haven't been attacked by now.

V: "A magical pond is losing water and their benevolent, magical waterdragon entity is about to kick the bucket. PLEASE HELP!!!"
G: "No can do. Really such a pity."
V: "You mothe..."
G: "Wait. Doesn't next town on the mainland have a big water pump?"
V: "Your right! Can yo.."
G: "You can always rent it!"
V: "What the... Aren't we paying taxes or something?!?"

V: "Help! Sea Serpens are threatening fantasy land and japanese fisherboats alike."
G: "Oh! You better get rid of them or it's your fault, if something happens to those japanese boats!"

V: "Hmm. They are illiterated. Better if we..."
G: "Oh! We help!"
V: "Where did you suddenly sprung forth fro...WAIT! WHAAT?"

G: "What about it? You villagers are so resourceful. You'll figure out a way."

Ah yes, the standard 'I'm dumb and it's all my own fault for not understanding, but let's take my frustrations out on the MC anyway' trope. No sane person acts like that in real life, I really wish they'd stop writing paper-deep characters that way. Especially when all the other characters dismiss the insane behaviour as just a normal personality quirk.

@Granitefish Let's view it from a different angle, different place. Let's suppose someone in US met a person who could conjure things like magic we're used to from manga or light novels and was from a place most certainly not Earth, and decides he/she wants to help that person to become citizen/gain permanent residency, and contacts someone at FBI/(other agency?) and gives them enough proof to believe the tale. What sort of 'help' do you think would arrive, think realistically? Is it any wonder people assume what they assume?

@chizan Realistically I think the government would spend weeks or months figuring out what they should do. Realistically the government isn't cohesive enough that they can just secret a person away without backlash from others within the government. Realistically I would expect the government to attempt to covertly or overtly attempt to get close to her in an effort to get information out of her. Attempt to befriend her and convince her to allow them to run unintrusive tests on her. Realistically I think they would closely monitor her to determine if she's a threat. Realistically I believe some groups would want her locked up. Realistically I think they would be shot down because others would call it a violation of human rights and the political backlash that would happen should if be revealed they'd done such a thing. Realistically I think you all read too much Evil Government/Corporation/Church media and in some cases desperately want to believe they are evil.
