The rating distribution on this series is so funny. It's nearly evenly split between 10s (people who appreciate the fantastic psychological depth of the story) and 1s (people who believe manga that make them feel bad are bad). In this age of information saturation we need a new paradigm for figuring out how to evaluate stories like this because a simple number score ain't enough.

I think big part of low votes is that first chapter looks like some weird hentai, so many people didn't thought it would have any depth. After that, only the remaining people who kept reading rated it higher. Is there way in Mangadex forums or somewhere to spread the word and get more engaged readers?

That said, I've seen manga with literal rapist MC, not to mention your typical isekai sex slave harems, get higher ratings than this, so clearly it is pretty weird that sniffing pads is somehow so much more disgusting than buying women or forcing them.

I recall seeing some older websites that would have the sigma value on their ratings modules, to indicate when there was a large spread of disagreement. But nowadays people don't know what sigma even is, and if u tell them they're just like, "sigma balls :dogkek:".

There needs to be a tag for stories that basically goes “mechanically this is a great story, but it’s a difficult read because you’re dying inside every chapter.” Sorta like drinking a bitter medicine - it’s good for you but it’s also hard to stomach.

Easy solution would be to spot strongly bimodal distributions and flag them somehow as "for certain audiences"

I got to page 15 (this page) and had to stop reading. My heart SANK as soon as I saw it. The secondhand shame and dread is the worst I've ever felt reading a manga. Like, I feel physically ill. You know how a lot of stories will depict a scene where a character skirts by the worth case scenario, but something convenient always happens to save them? This feels like the complete opposite.

Elaborate how reading this shitfest is good for you exactly? To me its like seeing a car crash. I hate seeing it, but i cant stop looking.

In the next episode of Gomi Ball Z, San Gomi grabs the husband and use his remaining life force to blow up the building.

That or he ends up in an Asylum.

This is precisely why seeing a 6 star rating is actually really enticing to me. It's really common for stuff like this to hang around that range.
