I read a lot rom-com with over-cliche plot but this one is actually refreshing, and I kinda enjoy reading it.
Yeah... sure, the first chapter is disgusting and the other are too, but it is peak.

To be honest, i already gave this title a 10/10 just after reading the first chapter when it came out.
It was probably because i was shocked, disgusted and yet amazed at how the author dared to touch a topic as sensible as loneliness and lust in this way.

And the illustrations are peak. It somewhat fell perfectly on the context.

I personally didn't excepted that cheating and NTR path.

This chapter has cemented this manga as GOATed for me, its treating the characters like people, and exploring how fucked up they are without the same indulgent edginess that boys abyss and chi no wadashi and similar titles do. It has a tone similar to Bokutachi ga Yarimashita or a lighter Oyasumi Punpun, but like, somewhat less flanderized trauma porn.

Might be going out on a limb with this interpretation, but specifically the line that calls out a warped sexuality being a norm in Japanese culture really cements this mangaka as conscious of both the international audience that the manga industry serves, and the narrative tone that see's the plot as a problem and is not attempting to glorify/normalize/indulge in the fetish content like other manga does (like the spit girl one or the many panties one or the teacherxstudent ones and so on).

It's top to bottom peak. Every chapter is making me think, making me reflect. I didn't come here for a psychological thriller with titties but it's where we're at and I'm living for it.

6/10? Read this like you're watching the life of someone pathetic, don't even try to relate to the protagonist unless you wanna disgust yourself

Ok in all honesty i see what the manga is trying to do but i feel like it's just executing it a bit poorly. I keep on going back and forth questioning if the author's intentions was actually to make this manga as a social commentary towards this epidemic of men in japan (or just in general uk) but there are just moments in the manga that really make you feel "uuh maybe the author might actually think like this...?" (Specifically due to how they portray the fmc)

It kindof went a weird route but i do still think the depiction of the mc's internal turmoil is very well done and can help if anyone wants to understand the psychology of these type of people. If you can get past all the hard to read parts then i do think it's something still worth picking up (for now ofc, ch 18 btw)
