If anyone is concerned about the pacing of this manga, I will say this:
(Some minor spoilers for the next few chapters here)

Chapter 13 introduces a 'rival', but it will be nipped in the bud pretty quickly so you don't have to be worried about some nonsense love triangle bullcrap.
Also there will be a confession before the end of the volume, which contains chapters 1-16.
EDIT: I meant chapter 13, not 12. Oops.
