I did actually realise this and considered using another error code.
But in the end I chose 404 because it would allow more people to instantly understand what I was going for as opposed to something like 503 or 504, and that you could take it as her soul left her body from shock or something like that. Also '404: Makoto not found' reads pretty nicely as a punchline.
