Both of the Fmc's make me upset to an unreasonable degree. Dark-Haired one is too self deprecating and is observing their relationship like its National geographic, which is frankly creepy. And it seemed like the childhood friend has feelings for him, but she either doesn't recognize it, or is repressing it, and then actively sabotaging his chances of happiness. He was willing to sabotoge his own happiness just to make her happy. Neither of them deserve to be in a relationship with him, if they should be in relationships at all. At this point they don't deserve to be friends with him. If there is any justice in the world, the next issue would have them simultaneously get severely disabled in a horrific, life-altering (but not quite fatal) car accident.

Finally, only took 24 chapters to get the POV of a supposed "main character". Even then, it's barely a sliver of what I had hoped to see about Kiyoka. She's perceptive enough to be good at imagining how the two childhood friends would be like. She's lonely, but as expected she does not think of just Shunsuke in her alone time (no romantic feelings there). We already know she's an introvert. Meanwhile, readers continue to get her name wrong.

But.... that's also normal... in fact, any progress happening only in the very end is kinda normal.

But for this specific manga, I don't mind since the very point of the story is about them learning to understand their feelings...

While I get pissed at most series that have needlessly dragged out romance... this one feels fitting because it's more about the growth than their relationship itself.

Fucking hell Aida has had his whole personality crushed, it's an abusive relationship, there was a little cuteness in the first few issues but the level of Gaslighting Tomeo is doing is fucking monstrous, she is a villain through and through and the author is doing a great job of making me despise her.

Both Koiwai and Aida have to hide being compassionate because "Tomoe would get mad". Tomoe is such a gaslighting bitch, Koiwai even thinks she's a compassionate, kind, loving person (but she just wanted to keep her away from Aida), all her motivation was selfish. Just to keep a person under her thumb, no one can pay attention to anyone but her! I have not hated a character this much in a while, and the glimpses of humanity she shows are then thrown out the window by a random act of anger when Aida starts to smile. She is a monster
