@remtap There are a lot of simple stories like this that work well as a oneshot but would be pretty bad if it were serialized and the author was forced to drag things out.
I mean, look at something like Nisekoi. It was originally a oneshot that I honestly kind of liked (though it was a bit silly). But then it got serialized and became hot garbage due to the fact that actual progress in a story is the enemy of serialization. Have to drag everything out as much as possible. Have to keep teasing things so the readers don't leave but can't actually
resolve anything.
