My guess is that Domorte and Ivan will seal the dragon again which seems to also be what the dragon itself wants.
Furthermore without the dragon heating up the undergound cave both villages Anesa and Coron would lose their fire blessings. That would most likely spell the end for both villages because neither is prepared for the cold.
They never had to gather and stock up on firewood or other fuel for the cold and probably not even have sufficient heating places to use it in their homes without the fire blessing.
