His party members are shitheads but I feel like the MC is somewhat at fault for not explaining himself better. I mean, how hard is it to say "I have a special ability to detect monsters. I'm going to guide you down the safest route to the boss. It might take a bit more time then usual though."?

Herbivore/beta Japanese mentality taking what could be passable "Mc kicked from party" trope stories and turns them into dogshit.

uhh, gladiator is not latin for swordsman, there were many types of gladiators in rome, that used a variety of weapons. hell, one type used a trident and a net to defeat their opponents without a sword at all.

Hey, at least they had a good reason to want to kick out the MC this time. He wasn't doing his job for years. So, yeah, kick him out. It isn't like an adventurer party doesn't run into plenty of monsters for him to tame.

Yes, the support magic is good, but that is a small part of what he should be contributing. This is like having a healer who uses buffs, but never heals or does anything else but one or two buffs. That healer would be effectively pointless and easily replaced.

Heck, at this rate, replace him with someone of an actual support class.

I see a bunch of people supporting him in the comments. Guys, him being the MC is not an excuse for not doing his job in the party.

At first I felt it was refreshing with a team that didn't hate mc or look down on him overly much. The gladiator even said that it's fine if Emi keeps dating and monetarily support mc even after they fire him. And a bunch of other stuff too that generally summed up to "he's a liability and will be the first to die if we bring him into the field. So let's not, and fire him from his suicidal job as a supporter-kun."

Then suddenly they are all talking about him as if he is some kind of jerk that intentionally keeps sabotaging them, and whose fault it is when his warnings comes true. The pseudo-gf even slaps him. And while the hero stabs him without issue since it's a stranger, gladiator is smirking for some reason, pseudo-gf doesn't even complain besides some minor self-hatred, and the girl he was literally carrying to save and whom was abandoned alongside him only grieves her dress (which she could easily has fetched while they berated him after stab if her paralysis had eased during the escape and not just then and there) and not mc or the fact she was abandoned too. Wth? What a whiplash
What I found incredibly odd and frustrating is how we started from a point of "old friends who promised to become strong together" to suddenly we treat one of us as total stranger even using "that guy" to refer to the person. It's so weird how we are sold this idea over and over again in these stories. Out of the blue, suddenly, like they're always rushing to give the MC the dramatic background for us to feel better once he is revindicated.

I totally get you. :pepehmm:
