No. You know what? You’re right. My former guild mates can become better people. Sure they had no issue with planning the murder of their childhood friend, but that was a few days ago. And that stuff about them mistreating me and using me? That’s ancient stuff! I'm sure they can change! Yeah, they’ve had several chances since abandoning me, and yeah, they wasted all of those chances, but they just need some time. And I’m sure that staying in the guild and receiving no punishment at all is also very helpful for them. I’m sure they will learn their lesson soon. You're right, I’m sure if they had had another year or two to kick me around they’d have come to their senses.
Oh, another thing. You’re not being selfish. I should be happy when they become better people. In fact, the four of us should all become a party again once that happens! It’s not like they literally tried to end my life. You’re right. You’re right. You’re so right about everything. In fact, I should probably be thankful that they tried to kill me, shouldn’t I? How else would they become better people? Thank you so much for telling me how I should feel towards my murderers. And you’re right again. It was only attempted.
Please, allow me to express my gratitude.
Thank you so much for all you’ve done, like overlooking my mistreatment, not saying anything when we teamed up with a suspected murderer, and for not ever mentioning that I was carrying the team. It’s not like that last part could’ve changed how they treated me or anything. And most of all, thank you for your misplaced trust in humanity. I love how you waited until after they tried to kill me to step in. You let them have to the last second to realize their mistakes. You’re a true hero.
One last thing, you’re so smart. You knew that that slave girl could become better, so instead of freeing her and letting her go home after years of trauma, you kept her as a slave. Not only that, but you refused to let anyone remove her curse, even though her curse will kill her eventually. That was the right move. How can she push past her limits without pain, right?
