Just to expand on my "it's trash" comment because I should at least give a fair review:
The intro chapter is basically every single "I got kicked out of the party by jackasses for being 'useless' but it turns out not only am I super OP but even the menial stuff was necessary/vital" trope shoved into one chapter except for immediately having the incoming hero or the other male party member creepily and obviously lust over the girls in the party. Even the tropes that can't coexist were there at the same time making things completely nonsensical (like the one girl who is obviously the closest friend going from resisting kicking him out to willingly going along with it, to outwardly hating him for arbitrary stupid reasons to willingly abandoning him to die with the most meaningless barely-an-apology possible. She changes her mind so quickly and so completely that it's hard to believe you're reading the same character the whole way through.)
The other guy in the party is of course an asshole
The one other girl is of course a fickle, shallow, selfish jerk
The hero that joins up is of course such a massive and obvious tool that there's no way he'd be able to function in a society that is (as these things are) a hybrid of romanticized feudal europe crossed with Japanese sensibilities where outward behavior and respect/etc are necessary to the extreme
The MC is a total doormat who never once even attempts to explain himself when the others dump on him for shortsighted reasons
He ultimately holds no grudge for their obviously over-the-top jerk behavior because forgiveness is the most divine of behaviors
It's junk. It's paint-by-numbers for these sorts of plots and can't even find a focused, coherent way to do that. There's like a billion other generic-ish kicked-out-of-the-party series for people to read that at least find a lane to fit into in their bland mediocrity. And that makes them a thousand times more engaging to read than the one chapter of this that I went through.
i don't remember this at all lmao so i skimmed some
but you don't need to be edgy or OP to know self-respect and to stop others from badmouthing you.
that's why i emphasized kind because it looks to me that not defending yourself, and tolerating other's bullshit is considered being kind and that's just plain manipulation.
hence the ew above since it's literal disgusting that the author is portraying that that kind of bs behavior is good.
I agree in concept, but it is worth remembering that this is a Japanese work. That sort of mindset, of brushing off anything you can, being a doormat who doesn't rock the boat, valuing others and the group more than yourself, and and of internalizing other peoples' criticisms/dislike/abuse of you as your fault and necessitating you changing to fix it is normal and accepted/expected there. Obviously not to this degree because this is a silly melodrama manga but you are generally expected to take the abuse of your "betters" with quite grace and good humor because standing up for yourself to the detriment of others is seen as selfish and inappropriate.
As for the 7 star ranking, it's probably just because peoples' voting habits are mostly ass. Instead of viewing the scale as 5 being average, 10 being great, and 1 being trash, most people have been calibrated by the way grading systems get abused to think that 7 is mediocre and everything below it is awful.
Generally speaking on here if I see something rated less than 7.6 I figure that the consensus is "it's kinda bad but mostly ok". If it dips into the 6s it's usually really bad, and if it falls below that then it must be irredeemably awful.
It's stupid and I wish people would figure out how to use those scales properly so we can get better and more nuanced actual grades, but it is what it is.
