As typical in male fantasy harem stuff, it's all coincidence.

Obviously you start with suzunna who is an awkward shy loner girl that he decided to be nice to and befriend early on in their lives, thus she glommed onto him and became his doormat.

Next is the other obvious one with a little sister complex. Really, I find it to be quite simple.

As for riri; She doesn't quite understand or accept male affection; She's been constantly harassed by men because of her appearance, and has been repeatedly been 'abandoned' by the men in her life, keeping her basically completely alone. Being saved by a guy, and then shown that he wouldn't abandon her is the hook that causes her character arc of "wow, maybe not all men are awful" - and it just so happened to be shindou that does it in the game. Things get wonked up in the isekai path because it's a girl that does it this time so her abandonment issues remain but instead of manifesting itself in a "maybe not all men are bad" instead she becomes pushy and needy and overly-affectionate towards poor mashiro. And also really never works through the 'men are terrible and bad' stuff so she extra doesn't like shindou being around mashiro/suzuna

for LI 4, the student council president; This one is just the trope of the rules addicted lame-o student council prez trying to seperate the harem protag and the harem and thus always being near him and "wow he's a 'nice' guy maybe there's something to this whole thing" type of deal.

And LI 5, the senpai; The writers gave up and needed one last one for the sales team, and so she's into interesting people and 'guy trying to get away from this annoying harem of women' is interesting, I guess.

So basically he doesn't have to be capable of anything or know how to cook, its the typical "everything just falls into your lap by happenstance" fantasy.

I'd think their cooking skills averaged out, lower than Suzuna, but higher than Mashiro.

And if the dude was eating the same bentos since middle school or earlier, he'd get used to it and not value it properly. Then by being forced to eat the sister's cooking, he learns what he has to lose until sister reaches Suzuna's skill level.
