It's stupidly convenient that he couldn't direct any anger at the original root: her grandfather who likely caused her issues
He also didn't muster anger at himself- to motivate himself to actually help her.

So, his anger at her who was a victim of her circumstances, which he could have easily helped with, makes him come across as extra selfish and pathetic.

we're not really justifying 'her actions', but what 'he deserves' - as in trash deserves trashy things to happen to them

In fact, I think he's getting off pretty lightly and actually deserves worse things to happen to him:
even if he gets into an accident that castrates him or something, I'd consider it karmic retribution since he still hasn't thought about helping her - like check to see if she is still being raped, possible therapy for her, etc.
