If a manga presents a wimpy MC that does something terrible, suddenly everything is justified against him. Forget the guy that actually r*ped the girl; actually, forget the girl that actually r*ped the MC. No no no no, lets focus all our heat on the MC who, while deserving of said heat, doesn't deserve ALL of it (the grandpa is right there, hellooo?).

Like I get it you know? The MC is actually also a terrible person in this manga, and should definitely get some help. But wishing all the 9 hells on him is pretty stupid and some of yall make it seem like these types of MCs are as bad as nazi terrorists with how many times I've seen this happen.

Why don't we just say the sensible thing and condemn the grandpa, and send the mc and the childhood friend to therapy. Like a normal person?

Seriously. But no it must be prolonged for plot. I honestly thought it would a terrible secret but no. As you said honest confession, admitting to being fearful of the situation. Police involvement for the grandfather. A psych evaluation as well.

Or better pitch let MC have a worse secret and it becomes a game of gaslighting to exposure.
