he went from treating her normally to being unable to talk to her in any honest way and can't even look her in the face.
Like yeah we have shy and inexperienced MLs, but this inept ? the expectations for romcom shy MLs changed a lot,

my problem is with the whiplash in behaviour , he went from treating his childhood friend normally to being unable to look her in the face ? and even talk with her about one of their childhood experience ?
Based on what some people said he doesn't improve in the short term so it will fall on FL to do all the work on the relationship if she desires it.

When this serie will inevitably introduce a second guy that hits on the female protagonist and the mc will fuck everything up by agreeing to having them go on a date, or some similar retarded devellopment I will drop this as fast lightning. Kung-fu fighting style.

It's the implication made in the start of the second chapter.
Both he and the FL were doing comparatively well up until middle school--then we're told that she worked hard, became an honor student, and is academically and athletically successful.
Meanwhile, he's directly contrasted against that as having 'discovered' video games in middle school, and all we're told is he became obsessed to the point of almost being a shut-in.
The fact that he's shown to have an extreme contrast to the FL when they used to be so similar, implies that his grades have slipped and that he's likely academically struggling and/or apathetic.
His own mother in chapter 1 claims he sits around every day doing nothing but playing video games, and again compares him to the FL and declares him found wanting.
That, coupled with his derision toward his mother, also implies that he really just lazes around the house all day and has to be browbeaten into doing anything.
That makes him initially unlikeable by virtue of being lazy, unstudious, and effectively all the negative counterparts to contrast the very successful FL.
That said, they also give him an interesting setup from a narrative perspective, and lots of room to grow as a person and improve himself. Especially in the sense of becoming worthy of someone as successful as the FL.
The onus being that he actually does do that, and that he's not going to remain static, and that the FL doesn't inexplicably fall for him despite him not growing.
There's no indication that'll be the case. But it'll depend on whether this is a wish-fulfillment manga, or a character-driven one.

What are you talking about? He talks pretty honestly with her for the most part. It is just you know he is shy now since he obviously developing a crush for his childhood friend. That's pretty standard for Romcom shy MLs.

Really why wasn't he able to talk to her about the time he helped her search for that clover ? why did he have to lie saying he doesn't remember ? it isn't a embarrassing memory and when he found a 5 leave clover and got excited why he freaked out so much by just looking at her, it's common in 2000s romcoms , times have changed this useless type of MC is not good anymore. Even the most useless modern MC are at least less dramatic and useless than this.
Bokuyaba , Yancha Gal no Anjou-san , An Introvert's Hookup Hiccups: This Gyaru Is Head Over Heels for Me! , You Were Experienced, I was Not: Our Dating Story, all have have better MCs that are either socially inexperienced, shy or socially awkward , but they aren't this level of bad.

For the memory, he is touched she remembered but wants to act cool about it. Of course he freaked, he saw her naked the previous chapter and saw a panty-shot in this one, it is honestly no different from most romcom MLs reactions. Also you read yancha gal no anjou-san, do you honestly believe Seto would not react in a similar manner as this? You dont have to like the trope but that does not make the ML unlikable imo.

Yes Seto the super shy MC but at least even in the beginning while he was extremely shy but there was moments of him being a stand up guy , Like the whole reason Anjou got interested in him is because he helped her do her homework and defended her against people calling her used goods. You believe this MC will do something similar ? He lied to her face to act cool. What part of him is likeable ?
Like all we have 2 chapters but so far he's only shown as a lazy liar who plays video games and has a cute and capable childhood friend.

The ML of this series reminds me of more "old school" male leads of romcoms that deal in mannerisms that would be considered well-trodden tropes in this day and age. Male Leads in more contemporary titles tend to be written as more "flat", but also with flatter potential trajectories for their character to improve over time.
Effectively they're "background characters" who somehow get the girl via a random act of kindness, or because they knew one another as kids but he's since forgotten while she hasn't, type thing. Whereas this ML in particular feels almost retro, at least to me.
That said - I think the issue I see with him that makes him initially unlikable is as I described previously--that he's apparently unmotivated and apathetic. It's narrated that he and the FL were both motivated and driven in their childhood, pushing one another to be the best version of themselves--right up until middle school, when she kept going and achieved great success in athletics and academics. While he, conversely, fell into video games and became obsessed, to the point his own mother constantly derides him for doing nothing else, day in and day out.
The implication there, is that while the FL has excelled and continued to push herself, the ML has stalled out, and "fallen back" along all the same metrics. If he's being contrasted against her as her opposite, then that means his grades are likely middling or worse, that he's not particularly sociable at school and probably doesn't have a robust friend group/if any at all, and is effectively a shut in who wouldn't be physically active whatsoever if his mother isn't physically throwing him out of the house.
To say nothing of the fact that the FL stopped by and helped the ML's mom, unbidden, with yard work, but the ML had to be threatened and forced outside because he'd never lift a finger of his own volition. He's being portrayed as her opposite, and that means he's going to have a litany of negative attributes that generally make people unlikable IRL, or least the kind of person that's maybe not really expected to amount to much.
That said, that doesn't mean that he's a bad character. It allows for a great chance for character growth and development, especially as the ML to all appearances has one-sided feelings for the FL (as of this point this early in, at least). So if he is currently a lazy loner who has stopped applying himself, then there's a lot of room for him to improve and become a better version of himself, thus catching up to the FL and becoming the kind of partner that would be worthy of someone of her acclaim.
The kicker, of course, is whether that actually is the plan on the part of the author. We're only 2 chapters in, so there's no way to know if the intent is for the ML to actually work toward bettering himself, emulating those facets of the FL that make her so attractive & appealing.
I certainly hope it happens, because we don't often see those sorts of titles in this genre where one Lead is "on the bottom" specifically in a personality sense, and works to "level up" and rise to the occasion of becoming a better person for their love interest.
What I hope doesn't happen, is that he doesn't change, and still gets the girl. I'd rather not see him stay static and exhibit the behavior and attitude we see in these two chapters, 30-50 chapters down the line, while the FL inexplicably falls for him for no other reason than "we're childhood friends". Because that would make him a bad character, and would be poor writing, in my opinion at least.
Again, no way of knowing at this point. But that is all my reasoning behind why I can see the ML getting a bit of flak here, even if I personally think the actual analysis leading to that conclusion is maybe more nuanced and thoughtful than has been otherwise presented.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like it he is not actually that lazy. He is willing to do the work when asked (or forced) and it is just he found his passion in games and that is the most important thing to him as of right now
it is also a precious Sunday.
Although, fair enough about him remaining static. But I don't think he would stay the same as we continue; but, I don't think he would go back to how his elementary school self was. I forgot this is not only a romcom but also a slice of life. Their development is most likely going to be a slow one.

I'd still qualify him showing no initiative as him being "lazy", and I'm taking the mother's words at face value. Doing something upon being told to isn't the same thing as being proactive, and it's clear that he'd much rather being doing nothing but video games. You yourself used the word "forced"; so I think even you would agree that it's not like he's doing it of his own volition. and wouldn't be, given the choice.
His mother also took away his gaming console and refused to let him have it back until he actually did what she told him to do. So him being "willing to do the work" is just as likely a means to get that back, as it is him actually taking the work itself seriously.
I'm also willing to cede that these are snap judgments, but we've gotten two chapters with the mom reinforcing the ML's laziness and a narrative exposition illustrating how the ML and FL used to be similar, and then the ML became obsessed with games with the self-described "one foot into being a shut-in".
The first chapters of a series are meant to lay the groundwork for the characters as they presently are, and to set up the core facets of their characterization as a reference & comparison point for future events. We know how the characters are now, in essence, so anything they do or say or think going forward has a framework to build upon.
That means that "little" we've been told about the ML, should be taken as the foundation for his character. And we're told he's a kid whose mother labels lazy and unmotivated, who spends all his time gaming, and that he has a childhood friend who has continued to excel while he has seemingly stagnated going into high school.
There's every chance that things change, and I personally hope that there's character development for the ML. But I'd argue that as readers we're meant to see these as actual flaws of his character and judge him for them, with the expectation that they'll be addressed and resolved over time.
Like I said. None of this makes him a bad character. It'll only be the case if he doesn't make meaningful changes, and is rewarded anyway (by getting the girl, effectively). But the traits he's portrayed as described in the manga itself aren't exactly going to make someone inherently likable, either.
