i like how the series portrays that awkwardness between old friends (made worsened by the fact that they used to be very very close). Putting them front and center like that makes the series have a surprisingly slow pace (though I'm not complaining)

At no point did I say I was paying for early access. I merely was asking why there was a delay / countdown on the chapter before I could view (Comic had a delay as well, which is odd because you can't even view on there anymore).

I didn't say you were. But you mentioned "our website", which we don't have, and "early access", and when I hear words like that, it sets off alarm bells that some scam artist out there is selling access to our chapters (which is dumb because we post them here for free). I just thought it was good to remind everyone that they shouldn't be paying for this anywhere.

We don't have a website, we dont have any early access, we dont have any time locks, and we dont have any countdowns. I'm not sure what youre referring to. Mangadex is the only place we upload unless the series was DMCA'd off off the platform.

We finished this chapter earlier today about two hours before I uploaded.

Apparently if the clock on your computer is wrong, Mangadex won't let you view the chapter. Check your clock.

Ok, Japanese question now because something made no sense to me: he serched for the word "childhood friend" and got a result that (obviously) stated that it's a friend (and whatnot), and then he got surprised(?), well, he clearly "discovers" that a childhood friend is a friend.
So, (TLDR) is there a specific word in Japanese for "childhood friend" and it's not that clear that it means "friend"?

Exactly, and to be honest I kind of fretted about how to translate it, but ended up just going with what I did. 幼馴染 is usually translated in English as "childhood friend", but the 馴染み means "familiarity". 馴染み客, for example is what bars (or hookers, apparently) call regular customers.
