@Yourself, @Blackwar, @icarushector & @Greatninja3: Actually, it exists, specially regarding Idol groups. Members cannot have any kind of romantic relationship. With anyone.
Otakus can and do have a rather unhealthy obsession with purity and can take their insane amount of money to groups that do appear as pure as their insane standards demand. The producers cannot have that, so they contractually bind their moneymaker idols into not having a healthy love life for the sake of their (the producer's) profits. This also happens in the west, just ask Disney.

@Korvalus I know, but idk if it's as strict as before due to the fact that some argue that such contract is against labor laws in Japan another extreme case of this might make politicians do something about it. I mean it is essentially against human rights if you think about it.
it's one of those cases like Pachinko it's gambling but not included in the gambling laws but because Pachinkos is causing more problems now they are making it part of the gambling laws (this is why Konami is trying to enter the consoles again) another case where it garnered international attention might make a new laws for Idols.
