Wow.... I feel such a romanticist scumbag but I can't help but gush with tears in my eyes about how beautiful Ai's death was.

It started from the foreshadowing of the white rose bouquet and world-ending shock of a knife underneath finding its target, with the accusatory words of one who misunderstood all juxtaposed by the unwavering words of one idol who sought to express her own way of love all this time. Then with Ai knowing she won't make it has said her goodbyes did the true waterworks sequence follow: the first, only, and last sweet genuine 'I love you' spoken to Aqua and Ruby, for which she's truly happy to have said it right from the bottom of her heart.

The premise of staying true to one's belief despite shit hitting the fan, yeah like a knife to the gut, and with a person coming into terms with their feelings and tying loose ends with their utter beloved at their final moments before letting go... these are two powerful things. I'm shaking in sadness and agony but I can't help but marvel at how hauntingly beautiful it all was, both visually & emotionally and in both the manga and anime. It's devastating stuff like this which I appreciate because of how deeply it hits us when it all plays out, knowing that we sure as hell won't gonna forget it for a long time.
