Hmmmm... ngl I feel like we boutta get a fake out/alternate ending thing now. It's not even cope cuz I love tragic endings. But when the narration says "the story you no longer know," it could mean "the story you were no longer present for due to dying,"

But also: "the story that no longer exists because the timeline was changed,"

I feel like the crow will probs pull a like time rewind situation and we will get the same stuff up to like the phone being on the edge og the cliff, only for it to swap to someone jumping in after Aqua and saving him.

I'm really anticipating what route Akasaka will take.

Cool, so they DID kill him. I of course tip my fedora for the balls for actually killing a character despite gods, magic and reincarnation being possible within the story.

Now I am worried what will happen with the story now, because I don't know about you, but for me Ruby's parts were boring in comparison to Aqua's mystery plot, the only part that was cool was to see her being as smart and cunning to try and find the killer as well, but now the killer is also dead, so what's left for her?

Are we in the final arc of the manga?

My theories for the endings:

1. Things remained grounded. The tragedy pushes Ruby to becomes even wicked but greater and even more beautiful idol.

2. Ruby commit suicide or dies through other means, maybe even just lived to old age. Then she and Aqua reincarnated and meet again. This time they aren't families and can marry each other now.

3. The prayers of Ruby fans and those who loved Aqua gives the loli power enough to rewind time with only Ruby retaining the memories. This time she managed to save Aqua. Or maybe they just dies together.

I just can’t agree with Aqua’s though process: disposing of Kamiki would have achieved more or less the same objective as framing him for murder while killing him, without any advantage seemingly deriving from the framing. Therefore Akane’s proposal of just murdering him was much more logical and would have prevented all of this…

Yeah, I respect Aka for letting Aqua rest in peace. It's bittersweet this way.

It's a complicated feeling. Sure, I love conclusive, happily-ever-after ending that gives off a satisfying feeling. But having this kind of bittersweet ending is satisfying in its own way too.

One of the most likely continuation after this would be Aqua's reincarnation, however that would be. All I hope is that it won't be too much of an asspull that it annoys me.

That would be the one true wincest ending. Like when you beat a video game without losing any lives.

Ai's death was a properly written tragedy.
This is just trash.

I don't buy it you did it for your sister, fucker.
You just traded one suicidal idealization for the next.
He had been planning this shit since at least chapter 106, probably much earlier.
"Noo I am doing it for my sister" fuck that, you were just looking for a way out.
There is no weight or beauty in this.
Aqua was just a broken guy, his soul tortured twice by the whims of the gods.

All of those chapters, all of them just for this idiot to say "I was born for my sister's sake".
This is beyond autistic. You think you understand what you are giving up, but you do not.

And with this, and only 2 chapters left until the end, this story is irredeemable.
There are 3 outcomes:

1) Ruby kills herself:
The author didn't give Aqua what he wants, it makes sense because this selfish act should not be rewarded narratively. The story still sucks because this ending doesn't fit the theme of hope that had been enstablished in every fucking arc except maybe the prologue (debatable: Ai was able to save her children and find love, she didn't premeditate suicide, it was tragic, yes, but not hopeless).

2) Ruby lives on, we get a "bittersweet" ending:
The author just fucking glazed the suicide of a broken and traumatized person, who has been tortured for 40+ years straight.
It also doesn't make any fucking sense. The scars of this should follow Akane (who failed to save him), Kana (who was abandoned once again), and Ruby (who lost her most important person for the second time) for the rest of their lives.


Naturally, if the author decide to reincarnate them once again in scenario 1 or 2, this manga fully becomes trash and an insult to the readers.


3) The author makes a step back, Aqua is somehow magically alive:
The least horrible scenario, but in that case we just spent several chapters on essentially "bait".
It's extremely unlikely the story can recover, even in this scenario.


In other words: it's fucking over.

I have read many stories, but it has been a long while since I've felt so much disappointment.
Fuck this, honestly.
