Well, Tae is in a marriageable age in japan, and even if the two of them's ages are 6 years apart, going by the formula (x/2)+7, the difference is slight from what's acceptable, probably stretching it a bit, but maybe manageable? Eh, idk.
I want to be caught off guard and have Tae actually do pretty bad academically for the first few months and then maybe getting her grades back up with support from MC and just her sheer determination

Not exactly a law, more like a guideline of how likely it is to date within an age gap while not being too questionable or creepy. I don't know who came up with it or how credible it is, I just find coming up with a formula for this specific instance pretty interesting. As long as both parties are above the legal age, they may get some looks for their age gap, including myself, but I'm not gonna get invested into something having nothing to do with me.
