So basically paywalls are allowed as long as they don't keep them permanently behind paywalls.
There's been an awful lot of those coin based paywall groups lately, you can probably see the discussion if you check out some of rithar chapter discussions.

They're not withholding their releases permanently, and they're not considered as "excessive profiterring techniques" since paywalls aren't listed.

Eh, I guess... Still shitty of them to hold onto chapters for months, well past the minimum amount of time because sniping becomes OK, only for them to "reclaim" a work the moment someone decides that what they're doing isn't ok.

It is shitty, but it's fairly easy to beat if someone goes into it full force. Just do all the chapters up to the newest, release them all at once, and snipe the series. There's a fair chance they'll drop it unless it's a very popular manga. Kanin Group did it with one of their manga half a year ago also. Galaxy Degen Scans have been one of the most sniped groups for years, but in reality people don't bother sniping them because they're just content with getting the chapters after a while. I think it's going to be similar with the new coin paywalls, people are upset and mad but they're not going to do an awful lot about it. Most of the series Rithar has sniped group has just dropped the series except one I think.
I must admit that if they'd sniped something I worked on, I'd probably just drop it too. But I doubt anything I work on is even popular enough to get sniped. They're after money after all.
