"Sorry; I flared up a bit..."

No, you did not; you acted, very briefly, like any human on any planet at any time, when confrontedby a person being a fucking moron... and then went back to being (evidently) a callous piece of shit who doesnt give a fuck about the MC.

You can see a long-term problem, right in front of you, and you have a chance to correct it... and then INTENTIONALLY decide to allow the problem to continue?!

I know this is my autism speaking, but I just want to smack the shit outta this receptionist until she does her goddamn job.
Not, like in the face, or anything... just...

OK tropes and clichés aside, I will never understand why authors think someone as talented as this kind of character is so undervalued by their party and tossed aside.

Sure their will be the occasional morally bankrupt party that takes advantage of a gullible idiot, but they would have to be terminally stupid to evict the baggage mule and free healing. 90% of the time this character is also their cook, guild manager and person that prepares their supplies and maintains their equipment...

Sure I get it, their OC needs a back story as to why they are so OP and has this demented pack of morons hell bent on killing them. But FFS, this has to be about one of most brain dead character setting ever.
its actually rather easy....

They kept him in the party for his quality of life skills but when you get used to these quality of life skills for 10ish years things start to fall though the cracks....

his heals and mule powers became normal, the dumb assess forget that they need said abilities because its normal, They also probably talked down to him for years at this point making his mentality just be shit and also becasue they talked down to him all this time THEY started to believe it (say something long enough it becomes "truth").

The Main problem is the people outside the party (literally the whole guild) and the Mc himself, he let them walk all over him for years but its also a cycle of abuse, the guild actually saw this but didn't even think of helping Mc someone they see as talented get out of this very obvious abusive relationship he was in.

while we see these sort of situations in manga a lot it doesn't make it any less real or scummy..

O . o
Ok first off while I know I said "I will never understand, blah blah blah" that doesn't mean I don't understand the behavior. Even said as much in the next paragraph. OTOH, you went on to explain exactly why such situations shouldn't be all that common. Which kind of reinforces the reasoning in my comment.

So much like the orignal comment, I fail to understand why the tone and context of your comment seems to be explaining something I've already acknowledged ...
