But... Jill had to always have treated Reda terribly. He was convinced he was just a potion replacement in the beginning and nothing more. That isn't randomly given info and Jill having a knee-jerk reaction. From what we were told and sawm Reda was always treated like that (and why did no one tell him otherwise before banishment???). At no point, even the flashback where they just met and had like no interaction, did they seem to be treating him like an equal or someone they wanted around.
Also, in retrospect, how stupid was the only with him for money ex-gf to fail seeing his nearly unlimited earning potential with healer guild, even if just potion level, once he was booted from party? Do people in wherever he was have free health care for reasons of plot set up and they just didn't tell us (yet)?

I feel there's a lot being skipped here. Or I am just focusing on stupid questions.
It's mostly the author/mangaka forcing the archetype. Chapter 1 explains the setting. Dickson's long term party has brainwashed him into believing he was mostly useless and then threw him away. After which the gold digging GF was more then happy to reinforce as soon as she heard he was kicked from the party. He then goes on a bender, and wakes up the next morning hungover and depressed.

The next time he goes to the adventure guild, he is taken into the back by a receptionist and flat out told he is the only reason his former party was even considered for higher rank. She then tried to encourage Dickson to find a better party or employer which treats him properly and he basically ignores. He then chooses to take contract in a frontier village.

From start to finish, chapter 1 is the author/mangaka railroading the MC onto the tracks of their story. It's full of the tired hackneyed clichés and tropes one comes to expect from this genre, and does so in the most generic way possible.

Ending Page: "Man, now I feel bad for the healer girl"

You mean the girl that knowingly and willfully supported a system that put other people through the hell she faced and the hell she was dreading to face? That girl? I don't really condone r*pe but karma is a bitch and she got off comparably "easy".

iirc he won't. The next few arcs after this are pretty much Reda settling things with his former party members
That's what 2 people left at most? Besides Jill, the bald dude got beheaded two chapters ago by the one "vigilante," and one of the ladies is also in the town as one of the guards.

Might want to focus more on proof-reading and less on the notes and comments.

Yup

Spoiler alert, no one cares about what a translator personally thinks about a character or story beats of manga. This isn't your live stream of a video game.

This would be the equivalent of an Atlus translator adding notes on Persona, saying, "Oh man, this new girl is so hot," or "damn, the bad guy got bitch slapped son" next to the story dialog.

The end of this arc was a satisfying one, although I expected a harsher and longer punishment for Jill... though I do understand that a person like him has no chance of being reintegrated into society.

Healer girl redemption next?

last few chapters did a decent job of making the points I wanted it to make...just kinda feels inconsistent with a lot of what was happening before. I feel like it should have been making these points about the different people and groups up until now, rather than it just becoming like this. Like, definitely should have mentioned the needing to sell yourself into slavery to pay earlier. Makes it hard to fathom how the healer guild girl thinks but there's plenty of people that do think like that, as long as it's not their problem, so it's best to be clear that these are the consequences of their system and that those consequences are, in fact, a bad thing. Like I was saying before, if the author does a shit job arguing this it makes it look like the prices are only like that because the mc is a doormat with a harem.

Hilde used Sleep
It's super effective
Someone from an American health insurance company must've been isekai'd there a few hundred years ago.
With the way they defend the system I could see that being the case, only Americans are delusional enough to think their health system is actually good, even though it's literally guaranteed bankruptcy

That is a wild level of self delusion, even for a manga like this. Impressive, really.

Also kinda hilarious to see healer girl automatically assuming she's gonna be charged so much she'd have to become a slave to pay it. Couldn't see anything at all wrong with that system, eh?
I think after experiencing that herself, she now sees how unreasonable the healer guild handles payments for treatments, especially to those who can't afford it.

Trauma is just the thing to turn anyone's life around!

Someone stated earlier how she is a "symptom and not the disease" because of how she was always taught that the current system is the proper way. She's pretty much been brainwashed, but this event can allow her to see things from a different perspective. Maybe we'll see her working to improve the healing guild, something that wouldn't happen If she had died like many people were hoping.

I would definitely agree with you... If I had paid money for this rather than read it on Mangadex for free.

Jill gaslit the MC to not think he had anything more than just being a potion replacement, which is kinda hard to believe since even the guild knew he had the ability to heal and somehow not tell him about how of value he really is. Which is the point of Jill's jealous/envy the MC has great potential, best way to fuck with that potential is to make him think he is just replacable.

The Ex-Gf is just a trope you lost your job? You are not stable anymore? I am jumping ship.
There are plenty of holes in the story, like if healers charge on a norm and that is their society was the MC so sheltered or someshit he didn't realise
