not realistic in the slightest aside from porn or fantasy world logic. Could be viewed as an even bigger cop-out than #2 if handled poorly because while that is "we avoid the problem and don't deal with it" this is "we choose the most ridiculous possible answer and ask people to accept it in spite of its obvious flaws"
Eh. "Not realistic" conflicts with a number of happy throuples and polycules I know IRL. That said both in writing and IRL its a delicate issue that needs careful handling. I think the author could do it but you're right that 1 winner or power of friendship are more likely.

If one girl "wins" I suspect they'll be official girlfriends in sequence before one gets to be the final one and they all stay friends. My grandparents had a relationship like that lol just with marriage involved.

I'm talking about Japan though. Super-conservative, traditionalist Japan is still struggling to tolerate "basic" non-traditional romantic couplings like same-sex relationships. No way in hell they're on board with polyamorous relationships except as a fantasy (which tends to limit it to stories that feature heavily fantastic elements.)

Yeah like I’ve said before, Ijichi was first, she was the whole reason any of them even met. If it wasn’t for her talking to him that day, we wouldn’t be here. It was her feelings which brought us here, and then we met Amane and now here we are. With them changing seats it just goes to show how valuable of a friend she is to him, he feels lonely without her around, and obviously she helps him a lot whenever he needs it.

Though she can’t be honest with herself and is unintentionally holding herself back from being with him. Honestly if she just told him how she felt, he would 100% date her. I mean Amane is nice and all, but he sees her as a friend currently and unless she says something to make him think otherwise, currently Ijichi has the lead when it comes to progress, but that lead might be short lived, who knows?
