Isn't common courtesy offering one's name before asking for somebody else's name? MC should've been more vigilant. Granted shouldn't have left someone in trouble just lying there but other than cosplayers and maid cafe workers how many locals still walk around in a maid outfit versus Phantasma with it's old fashioned views? After all, Phantasma still has mistresses for the King so wouldn't be a stretch for maids in maid uniforms to be more common in noble households. Really foolishly clinging to having a normal life. Plenty of history on Earth where people were murdered, executed, or killed because they were a potential or active threat to someone in power who wanted to make sure they wouldn't trouble them anymore. Also, there are stories where someone wasn't killed but exiled or driven off who came back wanting revenge or to screw everybody over and didn't care about collateral damage, innocents caught in the crossfire who were killed or ruined, or even if destroyed the city/country. Since they're already committing treason by sending an assassin they're going to want to make sure he's dead and out of the way even if he doesn't want to be king. As for the assassins they're more likely to be killed next to cover any connections to the one giving orders even if keeps word on giving them what they want before killing them. Otherwise would use an assassin that's loyal and has a long history of trust rather than an expendable one with no connections.
Btw, while a Riajuu is someone living the good life, the usual trait in manga is to be popular with multiple pretty girls, especially the top beauties of the school, while acting like it's normal and having no idea of the frustrations of those unpopular or can't even get near girls.
Granted taking on a couple of bullies who won't have any hesitation to use dishonorable tactics is risky, but turning away is no different than saying it's ok for them to do that. If nothing else should grab a teacher and if do go in hide wallet somewhere first except for a couple bucks. Would be great if won but since likely to lose this way only lose a couple bucks while no money would anger them.
Is it me or does it seem like all the MC's mistresses/assassins are all princesses and major characters from various fairy tales?
