If they're not gay, that's pretty great. Because sacrificing your genetic legacy is a pretty big sacrifice to make. Especially since Kou apparently has a very high IQ (of course he does).

That's not necessarily a big sacrifice to everyone.
Not everyone cares about genetic legacy. I'd even say most people care more for love and family than genetic legacy.
