@Acolytus It shouldn't be the reason she is attracted to Yuki, since she was attracted to Yuki when she thought Yuki was a girl.

@Nolonar Oh, I didn't remember that. I thought she mentioned Mayu's dad was the one who caused her trauma and wrote him out as soon as it was revealed he wasn't his dad. It seems like I need to read the past chapters again.

@contrasena Yeah, I just found it weird that she would call him "kind" even if it was in past tense but it seems like that's how I was supposed to take it.

That said, the fact that a "maiden boy" was the one who traumatized Mayu (unless he is just pretending to be one) just makes everything even more weird, but at the same time I want to see how it'll play out.

i think its not that mayu was harmed by someone else, but that her mom in her anger against her dad lashed out on mayu telling her guys were bad inducing in mayu a fear of males.

@chenando1 - It wasn't Mayu's father. It was apparently THIS GUY, who is now an author. Apparently he was VERBALLY abusive to both Mayu and her mother, which is why her mother took Mayu and fled.

Well we assume its the same person as mentioned in chapter 213 but her reaction to seeing him is a rather odd if its the same person.
Considering how non-Shoujo this series is I have doubts it will go down the melodrama path, it never did that despite many chances to do that.

They foreshadowed this a bit earlier in ch.355 when An-chan gave Mayu the book, and told her the protagonists name was Mayu. Not sure what to make of him using Mayu's name like that.
