He must be so used to wearing something on his chest that it just feels weird if nothing was there. Like wearing a sweater all winter long and suddenly you're in lighter clothing. Feels weird.

Sooo, everybody is wearing strange and shitty swimsuits... especially considering how most characters want to change their relationships...
Asuka is trying to get out of the friendzone with Kei and make him realise that she's a girl too, but wears the most unsexy swimsuit ever. Yeah, that'll make him change how he sees her 🙄
Yuki is trying to make Mayu see his manly side, but wears a fucking bikini from the 1920's.
Mayu is sometimes insecure at how her love interest is always more cute and feminine than her... she then decides to just wear a goddamn dress to go into the sea, hiding all parts that differentiate her from a man.
And Kei is rocking the 1990's baggy swim trunks.
I'm guessing we'll have to wait for chapter 2000+ of this manga to finally see a kiss... on the cheek...

Ok, so I'm not the only one who's wondering why he needs a top that just covers his chest. Like, what is there for you to cover? Why not go topless at that point? How are you still still so freaking adorable? These are the real questions here people.

Could be habit I guess, if you're really used to something it feels extremely weird with something different.
Took me years getting used to not having something against my back, even those times I went topless in the past I carried a bag or backpack against my back, shower had waterflow..
So felt extremely weird suddenly having empty air behind my back, used to it now and thus can sleep without any sheets over me just fine. (About time, way too warm weather down south.) =p
Anyways, Yuki had a surprisingly neutral choice compared to the usual stereotypes, reminded me of a guy I know when he's wearing shorts and one of his too-tiny tanktops or w/e they're called.
The rest were rather expected but still decent choices:
Asuka that usually wear something under skirts to hide her underwear, now wearing something that covers alot without hiding much of that shape.
Mayu picked something fairly feminine bordering towards what she'd consider too eyecatching, despite providing the coverage and making her shape less obvious just as she wants.
As for Kei, a good choice if you're just after having some fun bathing and such without adding needless unwanted distractions.
(One of the few choices that aint likely to cause teenage girls gossip about glimpses and shape.)
If you want to change how someone see you, better focus on how you can do so without straying too far from what you're comfortable with or it might very well backfire.

@elfalas Yeah, it will certainly help Asuka to win over Kei, to never leave her comfort zone. It has worked so splendidly so far in making sure Kei never pays any extra attention to her. The only time he did was when she decided to wear a cute dress to the amusement park, which wasn't really her thing (as far as her old habits are concerned), but it produced immediate results.
I don't blame Mayu, though. She's already a couple with Yuuki, and knows Yuuki won't mind. So, she can wear her swimming dress in order to shield herself from the eyes of unknown men, whom she's still a little afraid of.

Not sure what the reason is for him but I personally just feel more comfortable in a top. Without anything covering my chest I feel extremely uncomfortable (as though I just went into public fully nude).
