There's something wrong about their necks if they can't watch fireworks till the end. It's not like they would last hours.

@HYBRID_BEING That's crazy if true. In such a case I'd admit I was wrong. As much as I like fireworks, I wouldn't easily stand for an hour or two watching them. I also most definitely don't believe good fireworks would last that long at some random, local summer event. As it is, even a much much shorter work costs a whole lot of money when done by professionals. And those by professionals are the only ones worth watching.

The first experience.
My neck is starting to hurt.

This sounds like my first experience.

Japan's firework is serious business. They usually last a good hour. Plenty enough for your neck to starts hurting.

Well, i've only been at Sumidagawa Festival two weeks ago, so i'm not sure about the others (especially local ones), but there you either secure a sitting spot in advance (there was also an option to watch it from Skytree) or keep walking along the nearby streets in huge crowds (kinda keeps you from looking up all the time). I didn't track time, tbh, but i think it was more than an hour long.
Gotta say, they were pretty awesome for something i've watched from behind trees and buildings.

Wow, really? During my town festival they used to last 15-20 minutes, and even then my neck started to hurt 🤣
Now they last only 5-10 minutes, and they are much more entertaining. I can't imagine watching them an hour straight...

Alright, then I readily admit I was wrong. So much money spent in a local event happening every summer. As expected of a dirty rich country.

Well, if they make and sell that much it probably aint as expensive..
As with pretty much anything, if there's enough demand for something to mass-produce it like crazy, it'll cost far less per piece to make.
(Actual material costs are usually only a minor part of the total manufacturing cost.)
