Yeah, I already read the whole manga (in French) and I didn't like this development. It's also one of the reasons I stopped translating at vol 7.

The sequel, with Šárka's daughter, Clara, is even worse. She goes on to be a concubine of some Ottoman sultan. It was cancelled at two volumes.
