i'm surprised they haven't done club visits sooner lol

and i know calluses can be a thing long term but you'd think ppl would still buy lotions/creams and stuff or so versus your hands/fingers needing to be 'hardened' to play for longer/more intensely over time or so if not specialty gloves for it lol

Wow new characters? Again author brings up some good points as to the actual implications of their predicament their relationship is merely one of forced proximity. Also mc Dense as hell
I think it's less that he's dense and more that he's trying to protect himself. He's not wrong that they're codependent, and if the loops ever stop or things get even weirder a true romantic entanglement could make things super complicated.

The calluses are practical it's not just a consequence: it's a feature. Makes it easier to move around the fretboard. You also don't want any material over it because you navigate by touch and need the tactile feedback.

Also, not really a "long term" thing, you will start getting calluses within a week or so, if you play enough

id NEVER play guitar with gloves on lmfao, the raw feel from fingers is important. besides, calluses are kinda cool, i dont see why youd want to avoid it. a sign of the work you've put in
